PNG COVID-19 National Pandemic Response

No case of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been reported in the country in the last 24 hours.


But despite nil reports coming through, the rapid response teams are conducting contact tracing in provinces where positive cases have been reported lately.

The National Capital District continues to record the highest positive cases of which most are transmitted through community transmission.


Western Province holds the second highest number of positive cases followed by West New Britain.


Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 cases stands at 850 with nine known deaths.


A total of 40,851 people have tested for COVID-19.

Eight hundred and four (804)people have recovered whilst 90 samples are pending at the laboratories.

Thirty-seven (37)active cases are in isolation.


Sixteen (16)provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.

Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 96,267,473 including 642,353 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
The death toll is 2,082,745; of which 16,079 were reported in the last 24 hours.
