This Easter, for the first time ever, the people of remote Maramuni in Enga will be able to travel to and from provincial capital Wabag for their goods and services.
It is something that the people of this forgotten part of Papua New Guinea have not been able to do since Independence from Australia in 1975.
Two weeks ago, on April 1, 2022, Prime Minister James Marape opened the Maramuni Road and the vehicles started driving in.
This is rural development at its best and epitomises the Marape Government’s flagship ‘Connect PNG’ programme – through which all rural parts of the country will be connected by road – in motion.
